Why the name, Katana?

When I was looking to name the firm, I wanted something that reflected my connection to Minnesota, and that spoke to the essence of our work.

That connection starts when I was nine years old, which is when I moved to Minnesota for the first time in the middle of 4th grade. It should have been one of the worst years of my life, because my parents were separated that year. (They've now been together almost 55 years - woohoo!)
